The health and wellness industry is expanding quickly. People are becoming more aware of what they eat and are trying new ways to incorporate macros into their diets. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Let's focus on ways to improve our mornings and start the day off right.

However, many people don’t have the time to sit down and create a nutritious and delicious breakfast every morning, which is why for so many years we’ve turned to cereal. But, the traditional cereal available on the shelves is packed full of sugar and lacks any notion of nutritional value.

Luckily for us, not all cereals have been created equal. High-protein cereal is now appearing on the market and there are options available to help us eat well and move well all day. But, we’re all looking for different things in our mornings. We’re going to explore the best high-protein cereals on the market and why they might be the best option for you.

ELEAT High Protein Cereal

In our own, very humble opinion, ELEAT is the best high-protein cereal option for those looking to improve their well-being by eating well and moving well. ELEAT has created a high-protein cereal that stands apart from the rest, the focus is primarily on nutritional value and inclusivity.

With between 17g of protein per serving ELEAT is the best high protein cereal to increase your protein intake. But, with 16.9-19.1g of low GI carbohydrates per serving ELEAT helps your body digest this protein over a longer period. This is especially important for those exercising and it helps provides you with sustained energy that will last all day.

ELEAT focuses on using ingredients that are good for our bodies. With only 1g of sugar per serving, you won't experience energy crashes. It’s not packed full of artificial sweeteners either though, and you can really taste the difference between ELEAT and the heavily sweetened alternatives on the market. The proof is in the pudding, with ELEAT winning a Great Taste Award for their cereal.

As already mentioned, ELEAT's cereal is accessible to everyone; it’s vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free. Athletes also love ELEAT as it's also the first Informed-Sport Certified cereal. James Morehen, England Rugby's Performance Nutritionist, even backs it. With two packaging formats, pots or pouches, it's perfect for any occasion - on the go or at home!

Surreal

Surreal is well known for its playful approach to marketing and its sweet-tasting cereal, its vibrant designs appealing to younger audiences. Like ELEAT, Surreal is branded as a high-protein cereal, but with only 12-13g of protein per serving, if you’re someone looking to increase your protein intake it’s the slightly lower option.

Despite having 0g of sugar, Surreal is the much sweeter option when considering high-protein cereals. So, if you’re looking for something that reminds you more closely of your childhood classics, this is probably it. It achieves this sweet taste by using Stevia and Erythritol.

Surreal is definitely a great option if you’re looking for a high-protein cereal alternative to your classic supermarket options, as a plant-based, gluten-free, keto-friendly cereal they’re also very inclusive to several audiences.

M&S High Protein Choco Crunch

Whether we’d strictly call this cereal is up for debate, but it’s a popular option for people looking to increase their protein intake in the mornings - so I think it counts. M&S's High Protein Choco Crunch is a great cheaper option for people trying to think about increasing their protein intake.

As this is more of a granola, it’s hard to compare them, cereal to cereal, but with 10g of protein and only 2g of sugar per serving this is definitely a good contender for a way to improve your mornings.

One of the biggest downsides here is a lack of variety in flavours.

Fuel10k Granola

Fuel10k is a brand fuelling busy individuals with a variety of high-protein products, including a high-protein granola. Again, not strictly high-protein cereal but there’s not a huge variety on the market and beggars can’t be choosers.

Fuel10k’s granola, like ELEAT’s high-protein cereal, comes in two formats, a box or a pot, leaning into the convenient approach of being fuel for consumers on the go. With 7.8g of protein per serving, it’s not a bad solution to increasing your protein intake in the morning, or on the move either.

Their granola is a great option for improving your mornings with a special vitamin mix designed to help fuel your day, but it is slightly higher in sugar than competitors with 10.9g per serving.

Tribe Protein Muesli

We’re veering further away from the cereal game, but still an interesting option to consider. Like ELEAT they’ve won a Great Taste Award for their Chocolate Hazelnut Protein Muesli, and it’s at a slightly lower price point compared to competitors. It is worth considering the serving size is a bit higher comparatively.

Tribe’s protein muesli is still a great option for an active consumer trying to improve their breakfasts. As a vegan and gluten-free option, it still contains almost 10g of protein per serving and plenty of carbohydrates to boost your energy throughout the day.

Conclusion

Even though lots of these high-protein breakfast options haven’t necessarily been high-protein cereals, it’s interesting to see the variety in the offerings. Everyone’s looking for a different way to start their day, we all live different lives and what works for one person may not work for the best.

We all have different tastes and all of the options mentioned are delicious. But, I’m sure they’ll be a reason why one may work best for you, whether that’s the highest amount of protein intake, the lowest sugar per serving, or even what’s available to your dietary requirements.
